Well it’s actually 5:11 as I write my first words but I checked my email first. I can’t believe I’m sitting here typing this early. So, how did I get here?
Well, last night at 8pm, I shut off the computer. I got into bed and I read for about 30 minutes. No TV. Just me and my kindle app. After about 30 minutes, I was tired. WOOT! I put down my tablet, rolled over and closed my eyes. I could hear crickets in the background, like one of those relaxation CD’s. I quickly fell asleep. But that didn’t last long.
I was woken up once by activity in the house. My husband was finishing up a smoked pork shoulder for later in the week so there was some noise downstairs. I was later woken up by the TV when he came to bed and later by the TV after he went to sleep. No problem. Went back to sleep. Woke up again at 2am because I was hot. Put the fan in the window and went back to sleep.
When my alarm went off at 5am, the voices in my head started talking, “You had a rough night. You don’t have to get up. Who gets up at 5am? You could snooze. Nothing good happens at 5am anyways.”
I ignored the voices and got up. I’m a bit tired but I’m awake and got most of the sleep I needed last night. So my first 30 minutes was used to update all of you on my progress. Well, actually, I’ve got 10 minutes left of awesome time. Off to go use it wisely. This 5am thing can be done!
