A frugal frustration

This morning I got out of the shower and went to put on my moisturizer. Nothing came out of the pump.

There is still moisturizer in the bottle

Clearly, there is still moisturizer in there. I whacked the bottle on the side of my hand and used the pump to scrape out the amount I needed. Looking in the bottle there is at least a week worth of product left in there. I really wish someone would design a better delivery system. Until then, I will continue whacking and scraping until it’s all used up.

Do you get frustrated by the lack of efficiency when it comes to things like this? How far do you go to get the rest out of the bottle?

  • I’m so with you. Drives me nuts. My lotion is in a big bottle but every time the pump stops delivering lotion at about 1-1,5 inch of lotion left. That’s like weeks worth! So I have to take out the pump, hit the bottle to move the lotion and then use it like that without the pump to get the stuff out. Still can’t get everything out but at least better than (what I’m sure the manufacture hope) go buy a new one.

    • Think about it. I go through a bottle of moisturizer every 2-3 months. If I left the stuff at the bottom and threw it away, there is an extra bottle a year! I’m sure the manufacturers have little incentive to change the packaging.
